Enter the EU-funded HARMONY Project, aimed at revolutionizing how we recycle devices containing these critical metals. By improving recycling processes, we can reduce Europe’s reliance on imports and mitigate market volatility.
Erion, one of Harmony’s project partners, is committed to enhancing the recycling of neodymium from discarded magnets. Their work involves innovative approaches like direct and indirect recycling methods, aiming to recover valuable materials without extensive dismantling processes.
However, technology alone won’t solve this challenge. We need to engage communities and change perceptions about electronic waste – viewing it not as trash but as a treasure trove of resources waiting to be reclaimed.
